Secretary General

Ahmet Muharrem started his career in Imams and Preachers Seminary in Izmir, Turkey in 1984. After being ordained in 1989 as imam, Muslim cleric, he went to Dokuz Eylul University Theology Faculty in Izmir and graduated in 1994. Until he started MA programme in the US, he taught religious studies in high schools of various cities as RE teacher for six years. In 2002, he completed his MA in religious studies at the University of St. Thomas, St. Mary’s Seminary, Houston, TX. And than he started his PhD programme in philosophy in 2004 and completed in 2007. At the same time, he was the imam of Turkish Mosque (New Peckham Mosque) officially 5 years in London, U.K.

Now, Ahmet is the Secretary General of interfaith and intercultural relations platform which is under the umbrella of The Journalist And Writers Foundation in Istanbul, Turkey. He is married and father of three children.
